First of all, I am honoured to be elected the President of MBAM for the term June 2012-2014. MBAM has many past presidents who were dynamic, unquestionably hands on and constructive and had led the Association to a level of recognition beyond doubt. In fact, MBAM Immediate Past President has set a high standard for the Association and I take this as a positive challenge to help me serve MBAM members and the construction industry. My immediate responsibility as the President is to enhance the level of services to be rendered to our members and to the industry in general. I will continue to promote the Association as the Prime Mover and the Recognized Voice of the Malaysian construction industry. As MBAM President I have a bigger canvas to cover in terms of the scope of my responsibilities since the impact of any decision-making will have far more relevance and reach. I am very fortunate in this respect to have on board a team which is hands-on, dedicated, willing to work as a united team and well experienced in the construction industry. With the help of my fellow Council Members and also by leveraging on the knowledge from previous MBAM office bearers, the task of overseeing to the needs of the Association is made more manageable. Through their experience as well as the fact that we have common interests and concerns that relate to the construction industry, issues affecting members can be attended to and hopefully resolved to our member’s satisfaction. MBAM will continue to strengthen effective ties with other relevant Government authorities, allied professional institutions and trade associations including constructive and beneficial partnerships with Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) and the Building Industry Presidents Council (BIPC) to jointly address common affairs and concerns in this industry. We also want to continue to emphasize the Association as the Prime Mover and the Recognized Voice of the Malaysian Construction Industry.
