| PRESIDENT WEBSITE MESSAGE - MARCH |

|
Firstly, I would like to thank Members who attended the MBAM Open House on 3rd March 2010 at Sime Darby Convention Centre. We enjoyed the opportunity to build better relationships with MBAM members and other players in the construction industry in order to acquire more knowledge relevant to the construction sector. In this respect, I would also like to thank all sponsors who have come forward to sponsor future MBAM Fellowship events for 2010. We are indeed very grateful for your sponsorship and we do hope you will have a great time at these events organized specially for our members. The announcement by the Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) regarding the 4th Quarter 2009 GDP growth for construction industry at 9.2% is much welcomed. This brings the year 2009 average growth for the construction industry to 5.7%.We hope the construction industry can sustain an overall growth of at least 3.5% for 2010. My heartfelt thanks go to members who have actually recommended new members to join MBAM. It is no secret that the Association is always on the lookout to fortify our strength in order to continue to speak with a strong voice as a formidable representative of the construction industry. For new members who are joining us for the first time, I do welcome you and hope you have a wonderful time with the fraternity of construction players who are gathered here today. Please do enjoy yourself and do mix and mingle with other MBAM members. During the MBAM Open House MBAM Members and members of the media got to witness the historic launch of MBAM Resource Centre lead by Chairman of MBAM ICT Committee Encik Abdul Rani Achmed with the presence of Ministry of Science Technology and Information (MOSTI) officials. I would like to congratulate Encik Abdul Rani Ahmed ICT Committee Chairman and MBAM ICT Committee Members for working diligently to ensure that both the MBAM Resource Centre and the training programmes to facilitate its implementation were successfully conducted. Although the MBAM Resource Centre grant is provided by Ministry of Science, Technology and Information (MOSTI), the MBAM ICT Committee played a pivotal role to ensure the realization of this project. This is a small step to provide and share information so that the construction industry as a whole will benefit. YBhg. Dato’ Ng Kee Leen |
